A day spent in Overton is a sheer pleasure.
With its wide variety of shops and
businesses, this beautiful village can sweep
you off your feet.
Overton Gallery is not to be missed, whether you’re looking for
a little something for yourself or as a gift. This custom framer, tea
room and gift shop has won a 2018 Muddy Stiletto award for the
Best Gift Shop in Hampshire. The Artizans is where it’s at for hand-
picked accessories, clothing and homewares that offer beauty,
simplicity and quality. For a style refresh or a whole new look, The Hair
Studio is right on High Street.
For weekly errands, Turners (a traditional butcher’s) and Wilson
& Sons (the local greengrocer’s) should be your first stops. With
meat, fruit and vegetables sourced as locally as possible, you’ll be
glad you did! Pair those chops with the right wine by dropping in
to Caviste, a fantastic local wine merchant. They love to find that
perfect pairing of wine, gin, whisky or local and continental beer for
their customers. Grab a coffee from Honesty @ Caviste, it’s a great
place to relax, chat, eat, drink and to watch the world go by.
If you’re feeling a bit peckish, there’s a variety of pubs and
restaurants in the village. A local touchstone for five centuries, The
White Hart offers fabulous food and drink to locals and visitors alike.
It’s full of character and charm, with a few quirky touches, and has
been restored to perfection. There’s also The Greyhound, The Red
Lion, Redfort Tandoori and several takeaways.
